17th July 2021

These posts were originally posted on the YNAB forums and MoneySavingForums (a UK money management site), I am moving my journals across to WordPress to have them in chronological order, and because the YNAB forums are closing as of March 2022. I’m not sure how much of other people’s words I’m allowed to copy across from one site to another, so in some sections I may summarise conversations.

I had a grocery order meant to bring me ice cubes and ice cream this afternoon but they f_____g cancelled it on 4 hours notice and I am DYYYYYING.

(Ice cubes being one of the few cooling things my dog interacts with, he hates all the mats and towels)

I managed to book one in for tomorrow somehow, but it may arrive as late as 6pm and I need to cook lunches for work on Monday, not happy. I tend to cook two BIG batches of meals on Sunday and eat those two meals for the next 5-6 days. No cooking in the evening after work.

I called them up and griped at them a bit. What I *wanted* them to do was agree to move me to an earlier (more expensive) time slot tomorrow for the same price, seeing as the issue was their fault. Instead they told me that if the store didn’t sort their issue then tomorrow’s delivery wasn’t guaranteed either. I griped at them a bit more and pointed out that this is still their fault, and I’m self isolating and wont be able to book a same day delivery on a Sunday from another supermarket, and they gave me £10 off the order.

Which actually solves nothing but I think it’s all I’m going to get. I would rather have had the shopping delivered today and give the £10 back but whatever.
